Pick up from your Hotel to start your tour which will begin at the Giza Pyramids Complex, where you’ll be introduced to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest pyramid, and its companions, the Pyramid of Khafre and Pyramid of Menkaure. Learn the fascinating history of these monumental structures, and then proceed to the Sphinx, a massive limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a Pharaoh. This site is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Next, head to Saqqara, the ancient necropolis of Memphis, where you’ll marvel at the Step Pyramid of Djoser. This pyramid, designed by the architect Imhotep, is the first pyramid ever built and is a crucial development in Egypt’s architectural evolution. Your Egyptologist guide will explain the significance of the site and the various tombs and monuments in the area.
After exploring Saqqara, you will travel to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. Memphis is home to several notable archaeological treasures, including the colossal statue of Ramses II. Your guide will take you through the open-air museum, explaining the history of the city and the ruins that remain, showcasing Egypt’s grand past.
A traditional Egyptian lunch will be served at a local restaurant, where you can sample a variety of local dishes. Drinks are not included during lunch, but there are options to purchase beverages on-site.
